Extracting untold stories is the cornerstone of our work and we want to continue exploring family and community history with Chicago’s Black residents. The stories of how leaders mobilized people without modern technology was quite a unique feat and we want to learn these strategies from first-hand accounts. The Raby family wants to strengthen and empower its knowledge base as it gathers unique stories about Al Raby, his leadership, his contribution to the movement, and how he made Chicagoans feel along the way. We want to understand how he leveled the playing field for people of all walks of life – uplifting advocates of justice and fostering equity and inclusion in every facet of his work.
